Miele SBD 285-2 Combination Rug - Hard Floor Tool

If you are cleaning rugs and hard floor surfaces such as tile or durable wood floors, the Miele SBD 285-2 combination floor tool offers a single, all purpose cleaning solution for these needs. A top mounted lever allows the user to switch between carpets and bare floors. This is the floor tool that ships standard with the Miele S514 Solaris canisters which do not have a carpet nozzle with a revolving brush bar.

The Miele SBD285-2 is a combination floor tool designed with a top mounted lever to easily switch between carpets and bare floors. When cleaning bare floors, a brush strip around the perimeter of the floor tool is projected to provide soft, non-scratching brushing action. Grooves along the front allow debris to easily enter the nozzle. When moving to carpets and rugs, the brush strip is recessed, permitting the channeled steel soleplate to touch the carpet, pulling air through the nap to clean it. The SBD 285-2 is primarily recommended for cleaning short pile carpeting, delicate area rugs, and all smooth surfaces.

Uniquely designed, the Miele SBD 285-2 combination floor tool is 11.5" wide and 4" deep, with a multi-fastened elbow and roller assembly. A heavy duty rubber roller at the base of the elbow is responsible for carrying the weight of the floor tool and providing downward pressure from the wand. A distinctive pivot enables the nozzle itself to auto-adjust to the carpet height or bare floors while keeping level throughout the use of the tool. The elbow also has a vertical pivot which allows for adjustment to a wide range of wand angles for comfortable cleaning throughout your entire home without the need to move furniture or other obstacles. With sideways pivoting features you can also clean under low furniture easily.

The Miele SBD 285-2 combination floor tool has two tabs on the back of the elbow to conveniently hold the tool, wand, and hose at the parking slot on the back or side of any Miele canister vacuum. This combination tool is a step up from the SBD 265 floor tool because the user gains an extra tab on the elbow, a wider wheel, a wider floor selection rocker switch, and one deep air channel in the steel soleplate for better distribution of air through the width of the nozzle. Also, because this tool is air driven, individuals using a non-electric hose can easily use this accessory without the need for additional wands and hoses.
