The Primal Relay Fly Fishing Outfit is a complete 5 weight trout setup designed for anglers who want a quality rod and reel package without overcomplicating things. It replaces the popular Primal Conquest outfit and steps things up with the new Primal Relay freshwater rod platform.

The 9ft 5 weight is the classic all-round trout size. It is light enough for dry fly fishing on rivers and streams, but still has the length and control needed for nymphing, indicators, small streamers, and lake fishing. Whether you're getting started properly or upgrading from a basic entry-level combo, this is a really sensible outfit that will cover a huge amount of freshwater fly fishing.

The Relay rod features a fast action freshwater blank with Primal’s multi-modulus construction, low-shine stealth green finish, LFA Longitudinal Fibre Alignment, and LMS Low Mass Scrim technology. It is built in a 4-piece travel design and comes supplied with a Cordura rod tube and cloth rod bag.

It is matched with the FlyLab Exo 5/6 reel, a dependable, well-priced freshwater reel with a machine-finished die-cast aluminium frame and spool, large surface area disc drag, and soft-touch handle. The 5/6 size balances nicely on a 5 weight trout rod and has the capacity needed for backing and a floating fly line.

The outfit comes fitted with FlyLab Dacron backing, a weight-forward floating fly line, and includes a leader, so it is ready to fish straight away. Add tippet and a few flies, and you’re on the water.
